House of Ride — Terms and Conditions

1. About us and these terms

These terms apply to every course, bundle and package you buy or use on our online academy. Please read them before you buy.

Who we are. The academy is run by House of Ride VOF ("House of Ride", "we", "us", "our"), a partnership registered in the Netherlands.

Who you are. "You" means the person who creates an account or buys a course. If you buy on behalf of a studio, gym or other business, "you" also means that business, and section 3 applies.

Accepting these terms. You accept these terms when you create an account or complete a purchase. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, buy a course or use our courses.

Other documents. Our [Privacy Policy] explains how we use your personal data. The page for each course also forms part of your agreement with us, including what is included and how long you have access.

2. Your course licence

When you buy a course, you do not buy the course itself. You buy a personal licence to use it.

What you get. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and watch the course for your own learning, for the access period stated on the course page.

One person. Your licence is for one named person only: the account holder. Only you may log in to and use your account.

Two devices. You may use your account on up to two devices, such as a laptop and a phone. If you want to swap a device, contact us and we will help.

Downloads. Some courses include downloadable materials, such as workbooks, playlists or class plans. These are for your own use in your own teaching and training. You may not share, sell, publish or upload them anywhere else.

What you may not do. You may not:

3. Studio and business packages

If a studio, gym or other business ("the Studio") buys a package of courses for its team, these extra terms apply.

4. Account sharing

Sharing an account breaks your licence. We monitor how accounts are used so we can protect our courses and the people who pay for them.

What counts as sharing. Signs of sharing include:

How we check. We use login and usage data, such as IP address, device type, approximate location and login times, to spot sharing. Our [Privacy Policy] explains this in more detail.

What we may do.

  1. Pause your access. If we see signs of sharing, we may pause your access straight away and contact you by email. You will have 7 days to explain or put things right, for example by changing your password and logging out of other devices.
  2. Restore your access. If you give a reasonable explanation or the sharing stops, we will restore your access.
  3. Remove your access permanently. If you do not respond within 7 days, if the sharing continues, or if it is clear that your account has been deliberately shared, sold or passed on, we may remove your access permanently.

No refund. If we pause or remove your access because of account sharing, you will not receive a refund for the course, or for the time your access was paused. This does not affect your right of withdrawal under section 6 for any purchase still within its 14-day period.

5. Buying a course

Course pages. Each course page tells you what the course includes, whether it has downloads, how long you have access, and the price. Please read it before you buy.

Prices and VAT. Prices are shown at checkout. Prices for consumers include VAT where it applies. We may change prices for future purchases, but a price change never affects a course you have already bought.

Payment. Payments are handled by Thinkific Payments, on behalf of our course platform Thinkific. We never see or store your full card details.

Your contract. Your contract with us starts when your payment is confirmed. We will send you a confirmation email with your order details and a copy of, or a link to, these terms.

Mistakes in prices. If a course is shown at a clearly wrong price because of an error, we will tell you before giving access. You can then choose to buy it at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

Your account details. Please keep your account details accurate and up to date, and keep your password safe. Tell us straight away if you think someone else knows your password.

6. Your 14-day right to cancel and refunds

If you buy as a consumer, you can cancel your purchase within 14 days and get a full refund.

How long you have. You have 14 days from the day your payment is confirmed. You do not need to give a reason.

How to cancel. Email [email protected] before the 14 days run out, with your name, the email address on your account and the course you want to cancel. You can use the model form below, but you do not have to.

Your refund. We will refund the full amount you paid within 14 days of receiving your cancellation. We will use the same payment method you used to buy, unless you agree otherwise. Your access to the course ends when we process the cancellation, and you must delete any downloaded materials.

After 14 days. Once the 14 days have passed, purchases are not refundable, except where these terms say otherwise (see section 7) or the law requires it.

Business customers. This right applies to consumers only. It does not apply to Studio packages (section 3).

7. Course content, changes and certificates

Keeping courses up to date. We regularly improve our courses. We may update, re-film, reorder, add to or replace lessons and materials at any time, at no extra cost to you, as long as the course still covers substantially what was described on the course page when you bought it.

Bigger changes. If we make a change that significantly reduces what you paid for, or we need to withdraw a course before your access period ends, we will email you at least 30 days in advance. Where the change affects you more than in a minor way, you can choose to:

If a course has lifetime access and is withdrawn, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance so you can finish it and keep any downloads you are allowed to keep.

Technical availability. We aim to keep the academy available at all times, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or because of problems with our platform provider. If a course is unavailable for a long period through our fault, contact us and we will find a fair solution, such as extending your access.

Certificates. When you complete a course, you receive a certificate of completion. It confirms that you finished the course. It is not a professional qualification, licence or accreditation, unless the course page clearly says otherwise. You may share your certificate, but you may not alter it or present it as something it is not.

8. Health and safety

Our courses include physical exercise, including indoor cycling at high intensity, choreography and movements on and off the bike. Please read this section carefully.

You take part at your own risk. This does not limit our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited (see section 10).

9. Our content and intellectual property

All course content belongs to House of Ride or the people who license it to us. This includes videos, audio, music mixes, text, workbooks, class plans, choreography, teaching methods, frameworks, course names, logos and trade marks. Apart from the licence in section 2, nothing in these terms gives you any rights in our content.

You may use the skills and knowledge you learn in your own teaching. You may not copy, publish or sell our course materials, or present our methods, frameworks or course names as your own.

10. Our liability to you

What we are responsible for. We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.

Limit for consumers. If you buy as a consumer, our total liability for any claim connected with a course is limited to the price you paid for that course.

Limit for Studios. If you buy as a business, our total liability for any claim connected with a package is limited to the price paid for that package. We are not liable to a business for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or opportunity.

Indirect losses. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when you bought the course, or for indirect losses such as lost income or missed opportunities.

What we never limit. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence (opzet of bewuste roekeloosheid), or for anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Ending your access

You can stop using the academy at any time. This does not entitle you to a refund outside the 14-day period in section 6.

We may pause or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. This includes account sharing (section 4), copying or redistributing our content, or failing to pay. Except where immediate action is needed to protect our content or other users, we will first tell you what the problem is and give you a reasonable chance to put it right. If we end your access because you broke these terms, you are not entitled to a refund.

Sections 9, 10 and 14 continue to apply after your access ends.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example because of changes in the law or in how we run the academy.

Changes to course content are covered in section 7.

13. Questions and complaints

If you have a question or a complaint, email [email protected]. We aim to reply within 5 working days and to resolve complaints within 14 days.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be handled by the competent court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

If you are a consumer living outside the Netherlands, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may also bring a claim in the courts of that country.

15. General
